Dr Rebecca Stewart - Director

Rebecca has over 15 years experience in undergraduate and postgraduate medical education including working with Doctors who have gained their primary medical qualifications overseas. Rebecca is passionate about working with individual doctors, practices and training organisations to create successful learning environments and outcomes to enhance patient care.
Rebecca has been a GP for over 20 years, and a GP Supervisor for most of those. She has clinical interests in Women’s Health, Mental Health (FPS Level 2) and Skin Cancer Medicine.
She has specific Medical Education expertise working with medical practitioners that require additional assistance to meet competency standards (e.g. with AHPRA) and/or to complete College examinations, including having developed nationally recognised monitoring and intervention systems for Doctors in difficulty, and conducted internationally recognised research in the area. Rebecca loves mentoring and supporting Doctors interested in Medical Education, demonstrated by her supervision of many Registrar Medical Educators and Academic Registrars. Her consultancy roles have included work for the RACGP, MedCast, RVTS, WAGPET, GPTQ, eTG and Reed Medical Education. She is currently the Associate Director of Medical Education for the GPTQ practice Experience Program and Project Manager for the Medical Educator Research Project.
Rebecca is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) and the Australian and New Zealand Association of Health Professional Educators (FANZAHPE). She has completed a Graduate Certificate in Tertiary Education, Postgraduate Certificate in Evaluation, and Masters in Clinical Education (Research).

Mr Simon Stewart - Director
Simon is a Social Worker with twenty-five years of experience. His role within Medical Education Experts is to provide personal counselling, resilience coaching, and sessions exploring the contextualisation of practice in Australian systems through the Professional Enrichment Program (PEP). PEP is particularly suitable for doctors that have had difficulty passing assessments which is impacting on their confidence. He is able to provide services that are client centred, and result in thoughtful, holistic outcomes for individuals and organisations.
Dr Ashe Coxon

Ashe is a General Practitioner, Medical Educator and career counsellor and is the founder of Medical Career Planning. Ashe started to develop an interest in career development for doctors whilst attempting to construct her career pathway in her early postgraduate training. On completion of her General Practice training she began her Masters of Clinical Education and worked in medical education with GP registrars. Her passion for career development in doctors grew and she completed her career development degree with the aim of assisting doctors with their personal career journey. Ashe provides medical education services for Medical Education Experts, and career planning via her consultancy service Medical Career Planning.
Dr Jan Hanson

Dr Hanson currently serves as a general practitioner for Mackay Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community Health Service and the Well Women’s and Family Planning Clinic at Mackay Base Hospital. Dr Hanson is also a visiting Senior Medical Educator for Northern Territory General Practice Education (NTGPE). She has previously served as Medical Educator and Coordinator, International Medical Graduates Program, at Mackay Division of General Practice and as GP Obstetrician for Mackay Base Hospital. Dr Hanson has had papers published on women’s health, community safety, and clinical education in the Australian and New Zealand Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, the Health Promotion Journal of Australia and The Clinical Teacher.
Dr Eugene Wong

Eugene is a rural GP and generalist doctor with credentials in Anaesthetics and Retrieval Medicine. He has recently taken on the role of Director of Medical Services for Central Highlands District based in Emerald, Queensland. He was previously a remote GP and aeromedical retrieval doctor for the Royal Flying Doctor Service (Queensland Section).
Eugene is an experienced medical educator having worked for Tropical Medical Training, the Royal Flying Doctor Service, the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM), and now consulting for Medical Education Experts. As an educator, he particularly enjoys working with rural doctors and doctors from culturally diverse backgrounds. He is also skilled in Simulation-based education and is an ALS2, APLS and EMST instructor. He is an ACRRM examiner, a member of the RACGP Rural Education Committee, and a board director for Remote Vocational Training Scheme Ltd.
Eugene’s clinical interests apart from Anaesthetics and Critical Care include Indigenous Health, Paediatrics and Renal Medicine.”
Mr Nickolas Robinson
Nickolas is a fourth year Medical Student at James Cook University and provides administrative and IT support for MedEdExperts online resources and website.
Dr Nicole Higgins
Nicole is a GP Supervisor practicing in Mackay, North Queensland and is currently a Medical Educator for Remote Vocational Training Scheme for remediation. Nicole has been an RACGP Examiner for 13 years and has previously worked as a Medical Educator for Tropical Medical Training in Supervisor Education and Support. She is currently a Board Member of the RACGP Qld Faculty and consults as a Medical Educator with Medical Education Experts. As part of the administrative team behind the social media site GPs Down Under (GPDU), Nicole believes in #FOAMed and innovation in medical education. Nicole sees her role as inspiring the next generation of GP’s to be creative and curious lifelong learners.
