Medical Education Experts are a team of experienced GPs, Medical Educators, Allied Health and Administration staff. 

Our aim is to provide individual doctors, practices and training organisations with the resources and advice to build efficient and sustainable learning and teaching environments in healthcare.

Our Medical Education Team

Our Medical Education Consultants have over 30 years of combined experience in General Practice and Medical Education, including working in undergraduate and postgraduate settings, with Regional Training Organisations, and with Universities and Colleges (both RACGP and ACRRM).   Our Educators hold Fellowships in General Practice (RACGP and/or ACRRM).   Depending on the service you require, we have a Medical Education Consultant that can meet your needs.

We can provide services in the following areas:

Dr Eugene Wong

MBBS FACRRM FRACGP FARGP AFRACMA JCCA

Eugene is a rural GP and generalist doctor with credentials in Anaesthetics and Retrieval Medicine. He is the Director of Medical Services for Central Highlands District based in Emerald, Queensland. He was previously a remote GP and aeromedical retrieval doctor for the Royal Flying Doctor Service (Queensland Section). Eugene is an experienced medical educator having worked for Tropical Medical Training, the Royal Flying Doctor Service, the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM), and now consulting for Medical Education Experts. As an educator, he particularly enjoys working with rural doctors and doctors from culturally diverse backgrounds. He is also skilled in Simulation-based education and is an ALS2, APLS and EMST instructor. He is an ACRRM examiner, a member of the RACGP Rural Education Committee, and a board director for Remote Vocational Training Scheme Ltd. Eugene's clinical interests apart from Anaesthetics and Critical Care include Indigenous Health, Paediatrics and Renal Medicine.

Dr Michael Petinga

FRACGP MBBS BMedSc (Distinction)

Michael is a General Practitioner and a University of Wollongong Graduate School of Medicine Clinical Skills Teacher. He is a fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and holds a Bachelor of Medicine Bachelor of Surgery and a Bachelor of Medical Science (Distinction) from the University of Wollongong. Michael is passionate about assisting and supporting students as well as health practitioners in passing their RACGP examinations.

Dr Bambi Ward

MBBS, PhD (creative writing), FRACGP, M Family Medicine, Grad Dip Family Medicine, Grad Cert Oral History

Dr Bambi Ward is a Senior Medical Educator with a background in General Practice and Creative Writing. She has extensive experience working with doctors doing GP training, including exam preparation for RACGP, mentoring and counselling. She is based in Melbourne and is an examiner for the RACGP and AMC.

Dr Ashe Coxon

MBBS FRACGP GCareer Development

Ashe is a General Practitioner, Medical Educator and career counsellor and is the founder of our Partner Organisation, Medical Career Planning. Ashe started to develop an interest in career development for doctors whilst attempting to construct her career pathway in her early postgraduate training. On completion of her General Practice training she began her Masters of Clinical Education and worked in medical education with GP registrars. Her passion for career development in doctors grew and she completed her career development degree with the aim of assisting doctors with their personal career journey.  Ashe provides medical education  services for Medical Education Experts, and career planning via her consultancy service Medical Career Planning.

Dr Sarah Sibson

FRACGP BMBS BMSc

Dr. Sarah Sibson grew up in Seattle, Washington and returned to Australia for university, graduating from Flinders University with degrees in Medical Science (2005) and Medicine/Surgery (2009). She completed her RACGP Fellowship in 2015 and now works as a locum GP in the Adelaide area. Dr. Sibson has a particular interest in women's and sexual health; before she entered GP specialty training, she worked in obstetrics and gynaecology at Women's & Children's Hospital and Flinders Medical Centre. She is an examiner for the RACGP OSCE and also works as an assistant in surgery across the private hospitals of Adelaide. In her spare time, Sarah enjoys hiking, entertaining her fur child, and writing fiction.

Dr Qiong (Michelle) Fang

FRACGP DCH MBBS BSc (Hon)

Michelle is a medical educator with Medical Education Experts. She is a recently fellowed general practitioner with roles in health advocacy and telemedicine, as well as experience in clinical teaching to both medical students and GP registrars. She moved from China to Australia as an undergraduate science student and spent a few years working in medical research before moving to medicine. Michelle’s cross-cultural experience in navigating her own career pathway in Australia enables her to provide personalised academic support and mentorship to both local and international candidates preparing for the FRACGP exam.

Kasey Lloyd

BPsych(Hons) MSc MAPS

Kasey is a registered psychologist, a Member of the Australian Psychological Society, and an accredited coach with Growth Coaching International. She holds a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) from James Cook University and a Master of Science in Applied Positive Psychology and Coaching Psychology from the University of East London. Kasey is passionate about supporting health practitioners through the lens of Positive Psychology - the scientific study of optimal functioning and what makes life worth living.

Simon Stewart

Simon is a Social Worker with twenty-five years of experience.  His role within Medical Education Experts is to provide personal counselling, resilience coaching, and sessions exploring the contextualisation of practice in Australian systems through the Professional Enrichment Program (PEP). PEP is particularly suitable for doctors that have had difficulty passing assessments which is impacting on their confidence.   He is able to provide services that are client centred, and result in thoughtful, holistic outcomes for individuals and organisations.

Nickolas Robinson

Nickolas is a fifth year Medical Student at James Cook University and provides administrative and IT support for MedEdExperts online resources and website.
